Motivation / My Story

Born to make a change.

I was born in 2002. I lost my mother in 2003 and my father in 2005, and I grew up in the Mokoena family in Ratanda, Heidelberg.

I discovered my talent in Grade 2 and fell in love with the 100m — I love speed. From that day until today in 2026, I have trained without a coach or a mentor. Just me, the track, and the work.

In October 2025 I ran 11.62 over 100m. I went away and trained alone for four months. In February 2026 at the CGA League, I ran 10.96 — twice, across two leagues. My first time ever going under 11 seconds.

In 2022 I started volunteering as a sprint coach at Khanyalisedi S.O.S, a local school. In 2023 I took two of my sprinters — an U/15 girl and a U/17 boy — to provincials. They both ran the relays and brought back two gold medals at districts.

Now I am levelling up. I will soon hold my ASA Level 1 and Level 2 coaching certificates. I see the light, and I believe I was born to make a change in the world of athletics.

"Discipline. Dedication. Excellence. We build speed. We build champions."

Train Smart. Run Fast. Become Your Best.

Coach Carly Sprint Academy develops young sprinters aged 7 to 18 across the 60m, 80m, 100m and 200m. Every programme is built on the four pillars of sprint performance: speed, endurance, power and recovery.

Whether your athlete is stepping onto a track for the first time or chasing a provincial qualifying time, the approach is the same — master the mechanics first, then build the engine.

The Four Pillars

Speed

Acceleration, max velocity, block work and reaction drills that make sprinters faster from gun to tape.

Endurance

Speed endurance, lactate tolerance and the engine to hold form deep into the 200m.

Power

Age-appropriate strength training and plyometrics that turn applied force into ground speed.

Recovery

Mobility, soft tissue work and recovery protocols that keep athletes healthy season-long.
